Weekend Bets From The Gambling Goosecast

The weekend is upon us. What better way to enjoy it than betting your rent money to try and strike it rich? Let's get to the picks...

Friday:  Bellator 222

Rory MacDonald -170 vs Neiman Gracie  +140

upload.jpg upload.jpg

This fight is the semifinals of the Bellator Welterweight Tournament. Rory is the current Welterweight champion and looking to win this tournament to solidify his greatness. He had a lackluster performance against Jon Fitch in the previous round. The bout was declared a draw, but since Rory is the current champ, he got to advance to the next round. He's fighting Neiman Gracie, a 2nd degree black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu with a record of 9-0. Neiman won his 1st round fight by choking out former national champion wrestler Ed Ruth. Rory is the favorite here and he should be. He 3 times more fights that Gracie and has been a top ranked welterweight for many years now. The question is.... does he still have the fight inside of him? After the draw to Jon Fitch, Rory had a very bizarre post fight interview.

After watching that I am not so sure about Rory's future. One thing I am sure of though? Neiman Gracie is hungry and wants to render you unconscious. Put it in the books!

Neiman Gracie + 140

Saturday: UFC Fight Night 154

Edit: This Card is next weekend. sorry for the confusion

Chan Sung Jung +175 vs Renato Moicano -225

upload.jpg upload.jpg

Plan on this fight being a fast paced, hyper aggressive contest between 2 top ranked featherweights. Renato Moicano is ranked 5th in the UFC featherweight division. He only has one loss and that's to arguably the greatest featherweight of all time, Jose Aldo. Needless to say, Moicano could be a title holder one day. He is going against Chan Sung Jung aka "The Korean Zombie". A man who will come forward with a pressure and pace that resembles the undead. He is currently ranked 12th in the featherweight division, but don't let those rankings fool you. Jung had to complete 2 years of Korean Military service from 2014-2016. Before that he was 3-1 in the UFC with his only loss being against Jose Aldo. After his service he had a quick 1st round KO vs Dennis Burmadez. It looked like Jung picked up where he left off and would make another run at the title. Sadly he suffered a knee injury, sidelining him for a better part of a year. His first fight after the knee injury was against Yair Rodriquez. This fight was a war! A war that Jung was winning, well until Yair landed a elbow that you couldn't even land in a movie with 1 second left in the 5th and final round.

Jung is no choke and the odds should probably be closer. Put it in the books!

Chan Sung Jung +175

Saturday: Boxing  Fury vs Schwarz

Tyson Fury -3000 vs Tom Schwarz +1100

upload.jpg upload.jpg

Tyson Fury is coming off arguable the best fight of 2018 where he fought to a draw against Deontay Wilder. He probably should have one that fight, but a 12 round knockdown by Wilder swayed the judges scorecards to a draw. Fury has a record of 27-0-1. Hes going up against Tom Schwarz, a 25 year old German heavyweight with a record of 24-0. Now if you look at the records alone, you might think this is a evenly matched fight. That couldn't be further from the truth, Schwarz has not fought anything close to the competition that Fury has. The question is not if Fury when's, it's what round does he do it in. The bet here is Tyson Fury winning by KO. Put it in the books!

Tyson Fury by KO -215

Those are my picks. Pick them, win money, celebrate. For the rest of picks check out episode 77 of The Gambling Goosecast
