The Mad Queen

Warning! Major GOT Spoilers Ahead!

So, here we are just 4 episodes into the final season of Game of Thrones, and WOW has this season been a wild one. The show is wrapping up its storylines, mostly by killing off people, but many still remain. After last night’s episode, a newer storyline caught the attention of many GOT fans. Daenerys seems to be slowly losing her mind. Anybody in her shoes probably would’ve lost their mind years ago, but the Dragon Queen has always been a strong individual, both mentally and physically. But does she seem to be succumbing to the same fate as her father, Aerys Targaryen? Here’s a few reasons why she might be:

First, she’s lost two of her dragons. She refers to her dragons as her children. Now, I don’t have any children, but what I do have are dogs. I refer to my dogs as my children sometimes too (because I’m a crazy dog person). Assuming that Daenerys shares the same love for her dragons as I do for my fur children, I can’t even imagine watching someone fire an arrow into one of their chests and killing them in front of me. I would lose my shit instantly. She had that happen to her. Twice.

Second, the man she loved basically just told her that he’s not about it anymore because they’re aunt/nephew. That’s not an easy pill to swallow either. Although she wants to keep smashing with Jon, she knows she can’t. She loves him but she now has to let him go for that reason. Also, regarding Mr. Snow, his sisters don’t like Daenerys. They’re making her life miserable by ignoring her and treating her like a bitchy girlfriend; not like a queen. She probably won’t take it very well if she finds out that Jon told his sisters about his big secret of his true identity. Her relationship with Jon has pretty much vanished in the last two episodes.

Third, her best friend just got her head chopped off. Decapitation is... well shitty, especially if it happens to your bestie. Speaking of friends, she also lost her protector, Jorah. Although Jorah clearly loved her, she saw them as “just friends.” Sorry, Jorah but she’s not that into you. Also, you’re dead. Side note: Jorah protected her until his dying breath. Friend Zone hall of fame, first ballot.

Lastly, her advisors don’t trust her anymore. I think this will be the straw that breaks her. To recap: she’s lost her children, her best friend, and her man. Now when she finds out that Tyrion and Lord Varys aren’t 100% on her side, she’s gonna flip. She trusts them more than most people. She hasn’t quite lost them yet, and I think Tyrion is going to be right back by her side after Cersei’s actions in episode 4.

Her bloodline has a history of madness. Her boyfriend is her nephew who actually has a more valid claim to her throne. His sisters dislike her. Her friend zoned protector is dead. Her best friend is dead. 2 of her dragons are dead (all 4 died in front of her). Her advisors are acting sketchy. She has nothing but hatred and rage left. I don’t blame her and I think it’s just a matter of time before she snaps. She’s going to light up King’s Landing. Episodes 5 and 6 are shaping up to show us one crazy side of Dani that we haven’t seen yet, and I’m so ready for it.

PS how PISSED is she gonna be when she finds out Jaimie defected back to Cersei? She wasn’t happy about him showing up at Winterfell in the first place, but she went along with it. He killed her father and now he basically betrayed her.
